Who can participate? Residents of unincorporated and incorporated Gwinnett County. Hefty® EnergyBag® orange bags are available for purchase at Kroger stores and the Hefty ® website. Plastics #1 and #2 - which include items like water and soda bottles, milk jugs, juice containers, shampoo bottles, and detergent holders - will continue to be accepted curbside. Only Hefty® EnergyBag® orange bags will be accepted at this site. Gwinnett residents can drop off their full Hefty® EnergyBag® orange bags at WestRock, located at 384 Maltbie Street in Lawrenceville Monday through Saturday from 7:00am to 2:00pm. The Hefty® EnergyBag® Program complements the current unincorporated Gwinnett County curbside recycling program. This program helps residents recycle plastics not part of the list of acceptable items such as #4 through #7 plastics, plastic bags and wraps, foam, plastic dinnerware, and many other plastic items. Gwinnett County is now participating in the Hefty® EnergyBag® Program to give residents an opportunity to dispose of hard-to-recycle plastics in a sustainable way. Glass dropped off at any of the Gwinnett County glass recycling locations will be hauled to Strategic Materials, Inc., a large glass recycler in the Atlanta area.Īcceptable glass items are clear and colored food and beverage bottles and jars. The glass recycling program provides residents with the opportunity to drop off glass for safe and sustainable recycling. Gwinnett County is expanding its glass recycling program with the opening of a third drop-off location at E.E.
